I wholeheartedly agree with you in that BDSM is not violent in and of itself. The SM if you will, is generally considered violence, but even then, there is S&M and then there is hardcore S&M.
Spanking is considered S&M if you think about it. You don’t have to get into the Wheel of Catherine and Candle Torture.

Kaobear - Absolutely! There is such a range of activities in the term “BDSM” that the acronym itself is almost meaningless unless you give it some specific context.
