No Sex for Two Weeks?!
A quick question for those of you in long-term committed relationships…
Is two weeks without sex “normal” for you?
I’ve been doing a little reading about the Wall Street Journal article that alleged some crazy percentage of women would rather go without sex for two weeks than give up the internet for as long. Now I realize that article came out about a year ago…but it still got me thinking. One of the responses it received was by Andrea Grimes over at “Heartless Doll“. Andrea was upset because she did not believe it was a fair poll to begin with - One needs the internet to continue living a productive life in today’s world whereas sex can come and go without much upheaval. (After all, bills will still be paid, etc.)
However what struck me was one comment left by a reader named Brendon who said, “I’m really surprised so many men in that age group would rather have sex and no net for two weeks than vice versa. You’d think after being in a committed relationship or married for that long, they’d be used to two week hiatuses.”
*coughs, sputters, cleans the computer screen from the droplets of sprayed coffee*
Ummm, Brendon…really?!
Study after study has shown that couple’s in long-term relationships who have sex 3-4 times a week stay together longer, live longer lives and report higher levels of overall contentment and happiness. Isn’t that reason enough to save up a teeny-tiny bit of energy at the end of the day for a little snog with your hunny-bunny?
I think so.

In my opinion, Sex play’s a big role on married partners, it’s a way of a bonding moment together, so, for me 2 weeks without sex maybe normal but it’s not a good sign for you relationship.
