Besides their classic good looks, these men displayed their bodies with pride and were secure enough in their skins to reveal to the camera a truly masculine seductiveness that almost always eludes this kind of art.

But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Let’s start with the sleek, elegant home page. I curiously meandered from one easily navigable photo gallery to the next, each page captivating me a little more than the last.

I was intrigued by the superior quality of the models, the mysterious shadows that seemed to emotionally reveal more that they physically concealed, and the stark contrast between the sensual subtleties of some photos and the blunt, provocative rawness of others.

After spending much more time than I’d like to admit wandering around, my excitement growing, I decided it was worth getting personal with the woman responsible for bringing such visual pleasure to early afternoon. I contacted Nancy Murrian directly, and quickly realized the photographer was just as open and approachable as her photos.

To my great delight, she graciously agreed to my interview request!

Nancy, why did you choose to create a site featuring erotic male nudes designed specifically to arouse heterosexual women?

I decided to open The Garden Of Adam (GOA), because when I became interested in shooting male nudes, I searched for photography books and websites that had male nudes.

Although I discovered some great photographers, it started to become clear to me that I just wasn’t going to be able to find neither books nor websites that had the kind of photos I, and I believe other heterosexual women, would find arousing or made specifically for us.

I wanted to create a place were women could come and see photos of men and say, “Wow, that really turns me on!” or just be able to look at beautiful men presented in a strong masculine way.

I want them to feel like that finally someone understands what they’d want to see.

What makes your nudes different from the usual male nudes?

Well, first I’m a woman shooting erotic male nudes, not many out there!

And second is that I have not and will not limit myself to shooting men in the “accepted” manner of semi-nude, with no full frontal nudity, or presented in an effeminate way. When I was searching for photos I would come across things that said they were for women, but instead really were geared towards gay men.

But what a gay man is going to find arousing is not the same as what a heterosexual women will.

There seems to be this taboo on the nude male body and it’s especially focused on the penis. I think part of this taboo too is the idea that women wouldn’t want to look at nude men, or that men’s bodies are ugly.

To me both of those thoughts are sexist.

For example the feedback that we have received from women has been, how great to see nude men and to see a penis. They also say they want more erect penises - the more the better!

How do you find your incredibly gorgeous models? Were they surprised when you first approached them with your site idea?

I find some of my models through Model Agencies, referrals from other models, and some by just approaching them.

I have to tell you that when I tell my models about the site they have all been very interested in the concept behind GOA, erotic male nudes through a women’s eyes.

They all ask to see the site and comment on how they think it’s a good concept.

I also think it creates an extra excitement for them, to think that there will be women looking at their photos and fantasizing about them. I mean who wouldn’t like that or be turned on by it?

OK, so tell me the truth. Are they really straight men?!

Yes, they really are straight men!

I think this is very important for both the models and myself. It helps a lot because the two sides are feeding off the energy and sexual tension of one being nude and an attraction to the opposite sex.

I think if you don’t have this the photos would be flat, no real emotion and just missing that “umph”.

I know your husband, Richard Murrian, has his own erotic site called M-U-S-E, and has been photographing women for quite some time. Do you get a lot of help from him? Is it fun or difficult working together?

Yes I do, I am very lucky to have such a wonderful husband who is always there to help.

He is very supportive, encouraging and I have learned so much from him. This is all means so much to me.

We have been married for almost 10 years and we’ve always worked well together. There is such a comfort level and intimacy, modeling for him was always fun. I’m so proud of the book, Baby Doll, and all the photos he shot of me.

And of course, I have to ask…What’s the sexiest thing someone has ever said to you?

The sexiest thing, by a model or anyone?

“Your lips were made for one thing!” - I like it!
